Nothing Bundt Cakes Increases Sales by Expanding Delivery Nationwide | Roadie

The Situation

Founded in 1997 in Las Vegas, Nothing Bundt Cakes is a niche bakery concept with a successful, nationwide franchise operation with more than 300 bakeries that feature an intentional mom and pop shop feel. While delivery is often a core competency for bakeries, it was a struggle to identify a delivery provider that could offer consistent, easy-to-use, reliable service for franchise owners across the country. Some franchisees built their own delivery offering with bakery employees making milk runs. But, this took employees away from the tasks they were best at and added extra time and pain managing delivery. The corporate office needed to find an approved vendor that could easily embed into store operations across the U.S.

The Challenge

After trying two crowdsourced providers for on-demand delivery, Nothing Bundt Cakes still hadn’t found a universal solution for franchise owners. These providers only had coverage in select locations. And in the markets where the providers could make deliveries, stores were limited by network capacity and week-day only delivery hours. On busy holidays like Mother’s Day, stores had to stop accepting delivery orders on the preceding Thursday due to these limits. Sales were being left on the table.

The Result

We tried other on-demand delivery providers, but none could cover all of our stores. We were also frustrated by limits on delivery hours and capacity. With Roadie, we’re able to offer franchise owners a turn-key solution that actually helps them sell more.

Kelly Zwolinksi, Director of Operations

In less than three weeks, Roadie enabled Nothing Bundt Cakes to roll out on-demand same-day delivery to all of its corporate-owned stores and forty franchises. Stores were able to easily offer home delivery for eCommerce orders during shelter-in-place orders.
