What kind of packaging is required?
None! No packaging is required because drivers pick up straight from your customers’ locations and deliver directly to the end recipient. Drivers have everything needed to secure items but your customers should still consider fragility of products when determining whether packaging or additional packaging is needed for their deliveries.
What kinds of vehicles do drivers using Roadie have?
From rideshare drivers and retirees to soccer moms and commuters, drivers on the Roadie network use sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, sprinter vans and box trucks. When deliveries are created, the Roadie platform automatically matches each delivery with the driver with the right vehicle for the order based on size, weight and distance. For an additional fee, your customer can also find drivers with trailers.
Do drivers on the Roadie platform wear uniforms?
No. Roadie drivers are not employees of Roadie or UPS. Drivers are independent contractors. Drivers are required to dress and act professionally at all times when using the Roadie app.
How will my customers identify the right driver?
Drivers identify themself by showing the Roadie app with an order number. For specific sensitive items, your customers can also require ID verification from the driver.
Who competes with Roadie?
Roadie’s main competitors are other crowdsourced apps: DoorDash, Uber, Instacart, Walmart GoLocal, and Shipt. If your customer currently uses one of these platforms, they’re probably a good fit for Roadie.
What indicates a customer is a good fit for Roadie?
There are a few ways you can determine if a customer is a good fit:
- The customer already offers same-day delivery
- Ask your customer if they use company staff, hired drivers, local couriers, or another crowdsourced delivery app like DoorDash or Uber Connect Roadie covers more places and longer distances than all of those options.
- The customer has daily hot shot shipping needs. Roadie’s solutions are faster and often less expensive.
- The customer sells through ecommerce and fulfills orders from their storefronts. Roadie enables seamless pick up of ecommerce orders from stores and delivery to recipients within hours.
- The customer competes with ecommerce retailers, but doesn’t yet offer same-day delivery.
- The customer has regular inventory rebalancing needs, from store-to-store or DC-to-store. Roadie can enable on-demand delivery that’s faster and more efficient.
- The customer sends employees out to pick up orders from wholesalers or warehouses. Roadie allows businesses to get those orders delivered while employees focus on the tasks they’re best at.
- The customer uses another solution for first- or last-mile delivery to UPS stores or other access points.
