See how the Home Depot scaled same-day delivery with Roadie

On any given day, thousands of people take a hammer to a fence, a screwdriver to a cabinet knob, or a bucket of paint to the walls. From kitchen remodels and bedroom builds to backyard makeovers, these seasoned pros and DIY doers are starting home improvement projects and looking for faster, easier ways to get them done. Today just might be their day.

The Home Depot now offers their customers express, same-day delivery on more than 20,000 items in select U.S. markets, including Atlanta, San Francisco, and Philadelphia with more markets to come later this year. In fact, The Home Depot’s partnership with Roadie currently covers over 300 stores and counting.

“This is just the beginning of our expansion of improved delivery options, but it’s a significant milestone in the way we’re serving customers,” said Mark Holifield, executive vice president of supply chain and product development.

Send Anything With Roadie

Through our partnership,  customers no longer need to run back and forth to their local Home Depot before or during a project. Instead, they can simply buy materials online and have them delivered that same day.

“Most of us know all-too-well the pain of starting a home improvement project only to realize we have to stop and drive back to the store — not just once but multiple times,” said Marc Gorlin, Founder & CEO of Roadie. “Whether we’re DIYers or seasoned pros, at some point we all buy the wrong part, forget something, or simply don’t get enough in the first place. For Home Depot, express delivery can be a game-changer, especially in the competitive home improvement retail industry.”

By tapping into existing resources already on the road, Roadie connects people and businesses that have items to send with drivers heading in the right direction. With over 80,000 verified Drivers nationwide, Roadie provides enterprises with a faster, more efficient, and more scalable solution for same-day and last-mile deliveries.

Customers and employees leaving the store can also pick up Roadie Gigs and make a few extra dollars by delivering items on their way home.

The new service is an expansion of Home Depot’s overall five-year expansion of its delivery offering for Pro and DIY customers. Qualifying products for the new express delivery option include everything from power tools to décor to garden supplies, with delivery options starting at $8.99. Consumers and professional contractors can receive same-day delivery by choosing “Express Delivery from Store” through HomeDepot.com or the Home Depot app.
