We’ve been working on some really big things here at Roadie HQ — we’re completely redesigning and rebuilding the Roadie App! Roadie has always focused on giving drivers more visibility and control over their driving experience, and our new app is going to take that even further.
We’ve been working one-on-one with drivers across the country to find out what you care about most. Check out these features, try out the app, and tell us what you think.
More Upfront Information About Gigs
We know how important it is to know what to expect before you show up to pick up a Gig. That’s why we’ve started to request more information from senders like order numbers and item count. And if an item is over 4 feet or heavier than 50 pounds, we require them to provide dimensions — so there should be no surprises that something won’t fit in your car or is heavier than you expected.
The new app also tells you upfront, before you offer, if a signature is required. So if you don’t want to be at risk of having to return the item, you know ahead of time. Keep an eye out for the “Return Possible” tag at the top of the Gig description to get a heads up about these kinds of deliveries.
Finally, drivers have told us that one of their top priorities is scheduling their day and knowing how much money they will earn per hour. We hear you! Now, when you look at available Gigs in the new app, you’ll see an estimate of how long it will take to complete.
Flexible Navigation Options
Ever get frustrated that you can’t use Waze or Google Maps to get to the pickup or delivery location? We’ve included a feature which will ask you which app you’d like to use so now you can avoid those traffic jams with your navigation app of choice.
Better Experience When You’re Actively on a Gig
Instead of tapping “I’m at the Pickup/Delivery Location” buttons, the new app does the work for you as soon as you arrive. Now, when you’re on a Gig, you can focus on what steps are required, like if you need to collect a signature. Another great new feature is that the address is always visible on each step.
Ever have the app lose your pickup or delivery image, or worse, a signature? The new app saves each photo, so you’ll never have to worry about losing an image again or saving a copy on your phone just in case.
Handle Common Pickup and Delivery Issues Within The App
We know how frustrating it is when an item is out of stock at the pickup location or when a recipient isn’t home and you need a signature. Calling into Support can be time-consuming, so in the new app, you now have the power to cancel Gigs and create Return Gigs on your own! Simply tap “Get Help” and follow the prompts.
These are just a few of the features we’re working on to make your experience driving with Roadie the best it can be. There’s much more to come, but we can’t do it without you! We need each of you to give this new app a try and tell us what you like and what you don’t. That helps us prioritize what’s important, and gives you the chance to make a difference.
