Roadie users can now send items from their desktop, as easily as they can from their mobile phones.
December 2, 2015 — Roadie, Inc., announced today that its new integrated web application now allows Roadie users to access the “on-the-way” delivery network through a desktop or business computer, as well as through mobile phones.
Roadie connects people with items to send with drivers already heading in the right direction.
While Roadie first launched via its mobile app on the iOS and Android platforms, the Roadie community can now post deliveries from any Internet-enabled computer or device. This makes the service even more convenient for all Roadie users, including small businesses.
“Through the launch of our web application, we’re offering senders even more flexibility in getting their stuff on the road quickly,” said Marc Gorlin, founder and CEO of Roadie. “For small businesses in particular, the Roadie web app gives them more accessibility to efficient, low-cost delivery when shipping items to customers, whether they want to send from their desktop computer or their phone.”
The website application will offer users the basic features of the iOS and Android apps, including the ability to get an instant estimate, create a delivery, select a driver, buy additional coverage up to $10,000 and submit driver ratings. The website also automatically syncs with the mobile app, so Roadie users can track deliveries on their phones after they’ve posted their gigs on their computers.
Since it launched in January 2015, more than 200,000 people have downloaded the Roadie app. Roadie drivers have delivered items ranging from car keys to couches to kayaks throughout the United States. Earlier this month, UPS Capital® announced it would provide Roadie a parcel insurance solution that will protect items shipped via the Roadie community with a value up to $10,000.
